‘The Morning Show’ Season 2 Trailer Teases the Return of Reese Witherspoon & Jennifer Aniston
It’s official: The Morning Show is back with even more drama.
The Apple TV+ drama—which focuses on how two anchors unearth (and navigate) issues of inequality and sexual harassment at work—just dropped the first trailer for its second installment. And there’s no lag: The Morning Show season two picks up right where we left off in the first installment. You know, with anchors Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston) and Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon) spilling all of the network’s behind-the-scenes secrets in an on-air tirade, right before the screen cuts to black.
The all-new trailer confirms that Alex is no longer working for UBA, despite efforts on behalf of the network. “I don’t want to,” she says in the clip. “I’m not coming back.”
The same can’t be said for Bradley, who not only has a new co-host—Eric Nomani (Hasan Minhaj)—but she also has a new hair color: blonde. Despite the makeover, Bradley hasn’t forgotten about how UBA treated her.
“They hurt me. This is about them doing things behind my back,” she says. And then adds, “Don’t tell me it’s all going to work out.”
Oh, and how could we forget about Alex, who was supposed to have Bradley’s back? “I thought we were a team,” Bradley tells Alex.
If one thing’s for sure, it’s that no one—and we mean no one—is holding back. Even Mitch Kessler (Steve Carell) sits down for a tell-all interview, saying, “There will always be a part of me that wants to be liked. I never wanted to be this person.”
The trailer concludes with Alex telling her side of the story, which is being criticized by the public. “There’s been a lot written about The Morning Show and a lust for ratings that made even the worst behavior permissible,” the interviewer says. “Do you feel that the important issues have been addressed?”
The Morning Show season two will premiere on September 17, with new episodes dropping every Friday on Apple TV+.
