The New Moon In Libra Is Here, So Get Ready To Rethink All Your Relationships
On September 28th, the new moon in Libra is happening.
This new moon is all about finding balance in your life and rethinking your relationships.
The new moon in Leo will affect all zodiac signs, but Libra, Aries, Cancer, and Capricorn will feel it the most.
Fall ~just~ officially started, and it’s a big time for change. The leaves are falling, you’re finally breaking out your sweaters again (it’s been TOO long), and you can’t turn around without tripping over something pumpkin spice. Well, the universe is sending a little more shakeup your way in the form of a new moon, happening on Saturday, September 28.
Just a little astronomy refresher: A new moon happens when the moon is in line with the sun, making it pretty much invisible from Earth. There are 12 new moons a year, and each happens in a different zodiac sign.
This newest new moon is happening in the Libra zodiac sign, and it’s going to push you to crave a little more balance in your relationships, says Donna Page, a certified astrologer in Atlanta. There’s a lot more to it, though. Here’s what else you can expect:
What does the new moon in Libra mean for your sign?
The new moon in Libra is all about finding balance and harmony in your life, Page says. (All together now: Ohhhhmmm.) Do you feel like you’ve hit your peak well-roundedness, or are you still struggling to find the perfect work/life/gym/happy-hour balance?
While you’re having a think on your general life equality, you’ll also turn a serious eye to the relationships in your life, both romantic and otherwise. Things probably aren’t perfect between you and your S.O. and, while you know that’s the case for pretty much everyone, you'll still want to get your 'ship as close to awesome as possible (fair).
FYI: Kate Hudson has moon-gazing parties. Watch her talk about them before planning one of your own.
How? Time to make some little tweaks. Maybe you’ll finally tell your partner that, tbh, you’d rather not spend a gorgeous Sunday inside watching football, or you’ll come up with a compromise where you’re 100-percent down to watch the big game if it’s at an outdoor bar. Genius!
Just a heads up: If you’re single, you might find yourself dreaming about your perfect relationship (and partner) around this time. I mean, no shade to Demi Lovato, but why shouldn’t Mike Johnson from The Bachelorette fall in love with you?
As for your friendships, you’ll start having major cravings for reliable people in your life, Page says. That friend who always bails on plans at the last minute for a guy? Yeah, no. You really don’t need someone like that around.
On the flip side, just know that everyone else is going to be in the same balance-craving boat, so your S.O. and friends might ask you to make a few adjustments, too. Don’t get offended—it’s just all part of making you and your relationships the best they can possibly be.
The Libra new moon will impact all zodiac signs, but Libra, Aries, Cancer, and Capricorn will feel it the most, Page says.
How will the new moon in Libra affect the rest of your year?
Trying to achieve a little more balance can take time and effort (and some metaphorical tightrope-walking skills), so you’ll consistently be making some adjustments to get things juuust right.
Maybe you’ll change your gym schedule to weekday mornings to have more QT with your S.O. after work, or you'll do your best to meet up with your BFF at least once a week to catch up. Whatever it is, working hard to find a better groove will only make you happier in the long run.
As for relationships, you might be a little annoyed at first when you realize that there’s room for improvement. But over time (and after you speak up about stuff that’s not flying with you), things will start to roll a little more smoothly.
When is the next new moon, again?
The next new moon is in Scorpio on October 28. During this time, you’ll be all about tapping into deeper emotions, Page says.
So, work on getting things balanced right now. You’ll def appreciate the work you've done when it’s time to dive into your feelings in the near future. (Trust.)
