Mom Issues 'Snack Strike,' Kids Unionize and Counter in Cheeky TikTok
A mom's attempt at some strict snacking rules hilariously backfires.
Sometimes kids are too smart for their own good.
One mom took to TikTok to reveal how her kids fought back against a new rule about snacking by deciding to "unionize."
The funny new video is an update of an earlier post in which TikTok user lifewithdaniielle revealed that she instituted a "Snack Strike" in an attempt to get her kids to eat the snacks they already have instead of wasting them and buying new ones.
She posted an announcement on the pantry door stating the new rule. In response, her kids (and apparently, her husband) wrote, "The time to unionize is NOW! We will be meeting to discuss how we will fight back against this 'Snack Strike.'"
It goes on to say, "More people = more power against this horrible decision, of which we were not included."
There is also a date, time, and location listed for the meeting, but as their mom Danielle explains, it was super hot outside at that time, and so the note was amended to say "Postponed due to heat."
Bu it turns out that the "union" still met and hid it from their mother, coming together to write up their demands.
A new paper under the others lists their offer, writing out a selection of snacks currently in the pantry that they promise to eat if Danielle buys new snacks. At the bottom of the paper are two boxes marked "Yes" and "No."
The note says, "If you agree, check 'yes' and simply replenish the snacks. If you do not agree, check 'no,' followed by your proposal. Our goal is to come to a mutual agreement as quickly as possible."
Danielle narrates the video, reading out the notes and further explaining the situation.
After reading the last part, she says, "These little bamboozlers bamboozled me. What do you guys think? Yes or no? Should I agree to the terms or stay strong?"
Luckily for people invested in this battle of will, Danielle provided an update not long ago.
She starts off the new video by saying, "The Snack Strike continues, I did not give in, I stayed strong."
The counter offer is now added to the previous notes on the pantry door, addressed to "Kids + Traitor (Dad)."
Danielle's demands aren't too tough, agreeing with a few of the kids' notes, while adding in a few new requests, including two that specifically target "Dad."
It seems like the father's alliance with the kids will come at a cost, as part of the offer includes, "Dad does dishes for one week."
The Snack Strike is ongoing, so we will have to wait and see which side gives in first!
