Missing man with dementia found when he walks into reporter's live shot
Journalist Alanna Quillen was reporting about a man with dementia missing from an assisted living facility in Florida when she gave local police officers just the tip they needed to close the case.
On Monday, 71-year-old George Martin left Parkside Inn by breaking the window of his first floor room and climbing out. He’s apparently wandered off before so law enforcement was prepared to send drones out looking for the man — until Quillen saw him walking behind her.
The strangest thing happened this morning…while reporting on a missing elderly man with dementia, the MISSING man HIMSELF walks behind me right before my live report. George Martin was found safe! @WPTV

In the video, Quillen is seen pointing the man out to officers who are congregated outside of Parkside Inn. Moments later, they approach Martin and end up taking him in.
Some people on Twitter have since pointed out that the officers seemed to play little part in actually finding Martin.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but were it not for you, Mr. Martin would have kept walking. It seems the officers had not even noticed him!

Love that Mr. Martin strolled right by the police who were pretending to be strategizing for the news coverage.

The missing guy walked very slowly past a cluster of cops looking for him and they didn't see him. Stellar.

Fortunately, however, they were able to ultimately ensure that he is safe.
