Mindy Kaling Didn’t List Her Baby's Father's Name on Birth Certificate
The father of Mindy Kaling's baby is still a mystery.
The 38-year-old actress recently gave birth to daughter Katherine Kaling, and in the birth certificate obtained by ET, Kaling didn't list Katherine's father's name.
As for details we do know, the birth certificate lists Katherine's birthday as Dec. 15. And in a sweet tribute to Kaling's late mother, Swati Roysircar, the Ocean's 8 star decided to give Katherine the middle name Swati.
Kaling has been extremely private about her pregnancy, including the identity of the father of her baby. During her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in October, she talked about her A Wrinkle in Time co-star, Oprah Winfrey, actually being the one to confirm that she was pregnant in July.
“At first I was like, OK, if anyone was going to announce big news about your private life, Oprah Winfrey’s the person,” she mused. “You can’t complain that much about it, and you can’t be like, ‘Hey, Oprah, zip it!’ because she’s almost like a religious figure. I thought, ‘OK, if there’s one person I have to tell my daughter who revealed her existence to the world, Oprah’s pretty good.'"
As for what type of parent she would like to be, in September, Kaling admitted to the Today show that she expects to be the "dorky mom."
"Right now, I just feel so anxious," Kaling said. "But, I'd like to be the fun mom. I know I'm gonna be the dorky mom. So, if I could be kind of fun, too, I think that would be nice."
Kaling is starring in the highly anticipated Ocean's 8, and on Tuesday, the first trailer for the star-studded film dropped to almost universal praise.
