Milo Ventimiglia Reacts to Oliver Hudson Missing His ‘This Is Us’ Audition in the Most Jack Pearson Way

From parenting to pep talks, playing Jack Pearson has definitely impacted Milo Ventimiglia. Take his reaction to some surprising This Is Us trivia yesterday, for instance. 

When the star of NBC’s hit drama learned that his former Grown Ups 2 costar, Oliver Hudson, also snagged an audition for the role of the Pearson pops, but turned it down to go fishing, he was completely flummoxed…and full of positivity.

Ventimiglia expressed his surprise to ET during an Emmys For Your Consideration event, saying, “Oh, no kidding. I’ve never skipped out on an audition. I feel like when you get the opportunity to be creative, you embrace it. And I show up—even if you’re not going to get the job, you’ve got to show up and, you know, put your heart into it.” Spoken like a true Pearson.

Ultimately, Hudson didn’t completely miss out—he did catch a 271-pound tuna on the trip.

All’s well that ends well with Milo Ventimiglia as Jack Pearson.
