Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson Unfollowed Each Other on Instagram and Took Down Almost All Their Couple Pics
Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson's romance ended in August, just shy of one year after they started dating in October 2019. The two were initially amicable, with Cyrus explaining the situation on her Instagram Live. She said at the time:
It came out that me and my boyfriend have broken up. It was confirmed by a 'reliable source' even though no one is reliable in a relationship except the individuals who are participating in it. But right now, two halves can't make a whole, and we're individually just working on ourselves to become the people that we wanna be, like everybody else at this age. We are just deciding who we wanna be with our lives, what we wanna do with our lives, and so, don’t make it some drama story if next week we’re out hanging out, getting pizza. We’ve been friends for 10 years and we’re going to continue to be friends, so just don’t make it something that it is not.
But now, things may have changed. The Daily Mail reported that Simpson unfollowed Cyrus on Instagram shorty after he was photographed out with his arm around "rumored new girlfriend" Marloes Stevens this past Wednesday. (Stevens was also photographed kissing Simpson earlier this month.) Cyrus also unfollowed Simpson, though neither commented on the reasoning. Fans noticed Cyrus unfollowed Simpson at the beginning of November; Stevens was shot kissing him on November 4.
Take a scroll through their Instagrams and almost all their photos together have been quietly taken down too. The only Cyrus-related post that Simpson left up is one promoting the song he wrote about her, "Golden Thing," and his birthday tribute to her:
"Happy birthday baby. Thanks for being you," he wrote.
Cyrus also took down all her grid shots of them together, leaving no trace of Simpson on her IG feed. During their relationship, she would post Instagram Stories of the two more than grid posts, so screenshots of some of those remain.
