Mike Johnson Opens Up About Demi Lovato Romance
Mike Johnson may not have been picked as the next bachelor, but his dating life appears to be going just fine. The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise contestant recently opened up about his budding romance with Demi Lovato, revealing that the two are currently getting to know each other.
“I'm just getting to know Demi. I think she's absolutely fantastic and I don't want no pressure on her, no pressure on me, we're just trying to get to know each other,” he told E! News at the iHeartRadio Music Festival. “That's all.”
Johnson is giving it his best shot with the singer. When asked if he’s currently talking to any other women he said, “No, it’s just Demi. That’s the only person I’m talking to.”
The two have already been on a date together and have been texting each other since then. Earlier this week a source told E! News that Johnson and Lovato are “definitely interested in each other.”
“She’s has always had a huge crush on Mike and once they met in person, there was an instant connection,” the source added.
While many were upset that Johnson wasn’t picked as the next bachelor, a move that would have made him the show’s first black bachelor, Johnson is supportive of the show’s choice, Peter Weber.
“I’m so happy that Peter is the Bachelor,” he said. “I think he’s really sexy when he has a 5 o’clock shadow and nothing against ABC what-so-ever. I mean, they did a wonderful job on choosing Peter for what they want and I would have loved to have been the Bachelor, but you know, my mom always told me that God has a plan for me. And so I’m happy where I’m at.”
Demi Lovato probably is, too.
