When news broke that Michelle Yeoh would be a grandmother, the internet went ablaze with love and support. Along with that, everyone wanted to know what the Oscar-winning actress would be like as a grandma: and she wasn’t afraid to dish on the ultra-sweet details!
During a recent interview with PEOPLE at the world premiere of Netflix’s The Brothers Sun, Yeoh revealed two things: that she hasn’t decided on what grandma term she wants to be referred to as, and that she’s going to spoil her grandson like no other!

“Remember, if you say no too often to a child, they probably run around thinking my name must be ‘No,’ because every time someone sees me, he’s like, ‘No, no,” she joked, adding that her grandson Maxime will be “spoiled for sure.”
And speaking about figuring out what she wants him to call her, she said: “I want him to know his own name. Otherwise, he’s going to grow up thinking that’s his name.”
Yeoh confirmed the news of Maxime’s arrival with a series of photos on her Instagram of her stepson Nicolas Todt and his partner holding their baby, along with Yeoh and Jean looking at their grandson lovingly. She shared the photos on Jan 2 with the caption reading, “Love love love ??????????.”
For those who don’t know, Yeoh and Jean Todt have been together since 2004, but didn’t tie the knot until July 2023 in Geneva. Jean has one son named Nicolas from his previous marriage, who is the one who welcomed a son named Maxime.
