Meghan McCain says 'temper tantrum' criticisms are sexist: 'Men get to be passionate, intense, and emotional'
Meghan McCain made a passionate defense of retiring speaker of the House Paul Ryan during Wednesday’s episode of The View, and not everyone appreciated it.
The talk show co-host — who’s also the daughter of Sen. John McCain — said she was “sad” about the departure of Ryan, whom she praised as a “classic conservative.”
.@MeghanMcCain calls Paul Ryan a "classic conservative," and says those who are happy for his departure will most likely prefer him to his successor: "It makes me really sad… Paul Ryan is a politician of an era gone by." https://t.co/Q4RDWk2xB1 pic.twitter.com/y5iiTGZDZI

Though viewers are free to agree or disagree with McCain’s conservative views, there’s one thing she won’t stand for: being criticized for having a “temper tantrum.”
McCain’s statements about Ryan were met with many tweets accusing her of being “shrill [and] childish” and “obnoxious” in the way she expressed her views.
Ok this is it @TheView @MeghanMcCain MUST be replaced with @ananavarro or ANY RATIONAL person
Her shrill, childish screaming tantrum just now, cannot not be tolerated by #TheView
You got rid of @JedediahBila for much less! At least she had a sense of decorum— Susan (@glamourgirlca) April 11, 2018
OMG @MeghanMcCain – STOP YELLING and show some respect for the other women at the table. Repeating your points & getting louder each time doesn't make you more right, it makes you disrespectful and obnoxious. #TheView

In all seriousness, is Meghan McCain unstable? That screeching and her uncontrollable emotions are not normal. #TheView

One tweet in particular caught McCain’s attention:
Stop. Yelling. Use your inside voice and act like an adult, capable of civil conversation. Acting like a brat & having temper tantrums is making #theview unwatchable. Putting you in that chair was a mistake. pic.twitter.com/1LBxi6Sxg3

McCain finally addressed the comments in a strongly worded tweet claiming that she was being treated differently because of her sex. She argued that “men get to go on TV and be passionate, intense, and emotional with their convictions and they are lauded.”
You know – men get to go on tv and be passionate, intense and emotional with their convictions and they are lauded. But women do it and we are "brats having temper tantrums". Would you have the same reaction if I were a man attacking Trump and parroting your political views? https://t.co/V1RVdAZp50

Her tweet generated mixed responses, with some supporters defending her right to speak, while others claimed that male political pundits are also called out for getting overheated during debate.
You're right this isn't about sexism; it's about someone who think her opinion is the only one that counts and YELLS at those that don't agree. She berates others, especially the audience, for disagreeing with her. She took it too far today, she's unprofessional and immature. SMH
