This Is When Meghan Markle's Maternity Leave Will Officially End
Meghan Markle is officially returning to the royal event circuit next Thursday. The Palace announced the Duchess of Sussex's first post-maternity leave event this morning. According to royal reporters, Meghan will be attending a launch event for her capsule collection with Smart Works and UK retailer Jigsaw.
The Sun's reporter Emily Andrews wrote that "Duchess Meghan will launch her new clothes line, in collaboration with Jigsaw, John Lewis and Partners, Marks and Spencer & pal Misha Nonoo, next Thursday 12 Sept to support her patronage SmartWorks. Very excited to see what she’s picked for her capsule working wardrobe!"
"It’s Meghan’s official return to work from maternity leave after having baby Archie, but in reality she hasn’t really stopped: attending engagements with Harry during the summer, curating and guest-editing Sept Vogue & setting up the new SussexRoyal charitable foundation," Andrews continued. She added that Meghan will be speaking at the event.
"Meghan will make a short speech before watching a panel discussion with SmartWorks reps, two of its clients & Patron," Andrews wrote. "She’ll then meet Smart Works and brand representatives who will talk through the SW journey every client undergoes—including wardrobe and interview."
Meghan's fashion collaboration was announced last month when the Duchess of Sussex unveiled the British Vogue issue she guest edited. Meghan is also set to go on her and Prince Harry's royal tour of South Africa at the end of September with baby Archie. Harry will additionally visit Angola, Malawi, and Botswana on his own.
