Meghan Markle Wore a Thing: Brocade Maternity Dress Edition
Covered in pale gold-and-silver florals. Pretty!
Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect? with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."
After whirlwind trips to New York City and Morocco last month, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, aka the Duchess and Duke of Sussex, took a bit of a break from the public eye — for about a week, anyway. Good for them! But on Tuesday, the couple was back making the social rounds, joining the royal family for a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Prince Charles's investiture as the Prince of Wales.
It was a traditional yet festive occasion, and the Duchess chose a cream-and-metallic ensemble that included a brocade maternity dress covered in pale gold-and-silver florals. While the designer of the dress has yet to be identified, what we do know is that the Duchess layered it beneath a tailored coat by Amanda Wakeley and finished the look with nude Paul Andrew pumps and a slim brown clutch by Wilbur and Gussie.
The Duchess also wore her hair in a patently Markle style, pulled back into a chignon with some easy, loose pieces at the front to denote that she's not a regular duchess, she's a cool duchess.
