Meghan Markle Wore a Gorgeous Brocade Dress for Prince Charles's Investiture's 50th Anniversary Reception
Today at Buckingham Palace, the royal family is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Prince Charles's formal Prince of Wales title ceremony with a late-morning reception. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are of course among the attendees there. So what did the Duchess of Sussex wear to one of her first Buckingham Palace events of the year? A white coat by Amanda Wakeley and a cream and gold jacquard brocade dress with Paul Andrew heels. She has her hair in a bun.
Buckingham Palace receptions like this are typically private, so photographers usually aren't allowed inside to document the family in their full-length outfits. But exceptions have been made today and in the past. Back in December, for example, photographers were allowed inside the Queen's annual Diplomatic Reception. Kate Middleton's full glittery Jenny Packham gown got to be captured, along with her Cambridge Lovers' Knot tiara.
Meghan was last at a Buckingham Palace reception back in December. It was the Queen's pre-Christmas lunch, and then, only a glimpse of Meghan's diamond earrings and dress neckline were taken by photographers as she rode into Buckingham Palace with Prince Harry:
This is not Meghan's only event this week. The Duchess of Sussex will be out again on Friday for International Women's Day. She'll be part of a panel discussion at King's College London with other activists to talk about the issues facing women today. Panelists include Annie Lennox (The Circle NGO's founder), Adwoa Aboah (Gurls Talk founder), Julia Gillard (Global Institute for Women's Leadership chair), Chrisann Jarrett (Let Us Learn founder), and Angeline Murimirwa (executive director of Camfed).
