Meghan has appointed a female doctor to lead her delivery team, which ?? ?? ?? .
Everyone loves talking about Meghan Markle’s penchant for “breaking royal protocol,” and it looks like she might be back at it when it comes to the arrival of her royal baby. According to sources who spoke to the Daily Mail, Meghan has-to quote the outlet-“delivered an astonishing snub” (insert eye-roll here) to the queen’s doctors and insists that she doesn’t want “men in suits” to be in charge of her child’s birth. Which, to be quite honest, FAIR ENOUGH.
“Meghan said she doesn’t want the men in suits. She was adamant that she wanted her own people. It did leave a few of us a little baffled,” one source told the Daily Mail, while another said, “It is slightly surprising. These people [the queen’s doctors] are the best of the best, and when it comes down to it, their role would actually be very limited in the birth itself, assuming all goes to plan.”
The doctors in question appear to be royal gynecologists (yes, that’s a thing) Alan Farthing and Guy Thorpe-Beeston, who had major roles in all three of Kate Middleton’s births. But Meghan is said to have understandably appointed a female doctor to lead her delivery team.
“Above all, this is her birth, her baby, and she must do whatever feels right for her,” a source close to Meghan said. “How could anyone judge her for that?”
Answer: They can’t. And apparently the queen’s doctors aren’t offended in the slightest since (as a source says) “it really is ever so personal.” That said, the Daily Mail claims these dudes “cannot be excluded completely” from the birth of a royal baby, which implies they’ll be hovering around in the background.
