Here’s How Meghan Markle’s Royal Duties Will Shift When Prince William Becomes King
Meghan Markle has settled into her role as the Duchess of Sussex with aplomb. But how will her responsibilities shift as she and Prince Harry climb closer to the top of the line of succession?
According to former royal butler Grant Harrold, Meghan’s duties are likely to increase when Prince William becomes king. Now, even though we still have a few monarchs to go before that happens (Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles, respectively), our curiosity was piqued.
“The Duchess of Sussex will have an important role to develop, as one day she will be sister-in-law to the king,” Harrold told Express. “She will take on duties on behalf of the monarch as we see the royals do today for the queen. Both royal duchesses have important roles to fulfill. I imagine we will see more of the Duchess of Cambridge as she prepares for her future role as queen.”
Although it’s highly unlikely Harry and Meg will ever rule the Commonwealth, it seems they’ll take on more pivotal roles in the royal family as time passes.
We. Can’t. Wait.
