Meghan Markle Reportedly Might Not Return to England With Prince Harry
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are officially traveling together again (and just hit up NYC for Global Citizen Live!)—but that doesn't mean we should necessarily expect them to return to the United Kingdom anytime soon. At least according to royal expert Robert Jobson, who somewhat dramatically told Us Weekly “I’m not sure Meghan will ever come to Britain again."
Hmmm, I mean, considering Harry's entire family is located in England, it seems pretty like Meghan and he will eventually make a trip back with their children—especially since the couple are still close to Harry's grandmother Queen Elizabeth, and even named their daughter, Lilibet, after her.
Either way, there's a lot of speculation about whether or not the Sussexes will be in England for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, with Robert Jobson saying “We have to wait and see.... Harry, I’m sure he thinks he’ll be there." He also claimed that people see the Sussexes' “doting on the queen” as “hypocritical,” saying that "within months, [Harry's] going to have a book coming out. … It’s gonna be quite awkward.”
Harry's memoir is definitely expected to ruffle some overly sensitive royal feathers, but to be honest he hasn't in any way implied that he's going to be talking about his family or stirring up drama. In fact, all Harry has said about the book is the following pretty low-key statement!
“I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become. I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story—the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned—I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”
In other words, the royals should probably calm down.
