Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Son Archie Makes His Speaking Debut in the Archewell Podcast
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's one-year-old son Archie has officially made his speaking debut…on his parents' podcast, of course. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's holiday episode of their new Spotify series Archewell Audio was released this morning, and the couple's son speaks publicly for the first time at the end of the program.
The couple had guests, including Fair Fight's Stacey Abrams, activist Rachel Cargle, and musician Elton John share audio diaries about their year during the program. While Meghan and Harry didn't share their own diaries, they did get personal in the last few minutes of the episode. They spoke about a song they played at the end of their wedding, then had their son join them in wishing everyone a happy new year.
As Meghan explained, "'This Little Light of Mine' played at the very end of our wedding…while we were walking down the steps of the church. It was the music that we wanted playing when we started our lives together. Because as we all know, 'darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that…'"
And Harry continued, "The message of this song is one we hold so dearly. It’s about using the power we each have within us to make this world a better place."
The song played to end the podcast, with Harry saying, "Happy New Year, everyone."
Meghan echoed him: "Happy New Year!"
"Stay safe out there," Harry said.
"Thanks for listening," Meghan added.
Then Archie came in, with Harry telling him: "You can speak into it."
"Archie, is it fun?" Meghan asked her son.
"Fun?" Archie responded.
"Fun!" Meghan laughed.
"After me. Ready? Happy..." Harry said.
"Happy..." Archie echoed.
"New..." Meghan and Harry said.
"New...Year," Archie repeated.
"Yay!" Meghan cheered.
