Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Plan More Home Renovations
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had only just completed overhauling the interior of their new home when they moved in this past April. But now that the rooms are up to spec, they're taking on Frogmore Cottage's exterior.
A new report from the Daily Mail reveals that Meghan and Harry have been granted permission to add windows and doors, work on the walls, and a garden complete with exterior lighting.
"Frogmore Cottage will be the perfect place for a royal prince to grow up with the Duke and Duchess," a source told the Mail. "The Duchess is very involved in the project and wanted the final design to be perfect... But this is not all, the couple are now looking at finishing off their garden to make it perfect for them and Archie. Lighting is a key part of the scheme not just to make the garden pretty but also for security reasons."
It's been previously revealed that Meghan intends the garden to be more than decorative. The Duchess reportedly plans to grow organic produce near her home. "She regularly cooks for Prince Harry and the cottage will be the perfect place for her to prepare meals with some home grown produce from their own garden," a source told the Mail this past April. "It is understood that she wants to be able grow vegetables, herbs and soft fruits."
While the plans for the garden's design are mostly under wraps, we do know one thing that will make its way into the design: a rock, engraved with Archie's name. Harry was recently given the rock as a gift, and told that the "kindness stone" could be hidden for a child to discover later on.
"Can you imagine him finding it and saying: 'I’ve got a rock and it’s got my name on?'" Harry said, per People. "Thank you very much. I love that."
