Meghan Markle and Prince Harry named their baby boy Archie and people are freaking out: 'He better have red hair!'
Wednesday was a big day for baby Sussex after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry debuted the two-day-old to the world and even revealed his name. Now, the infant is trending on Twitter — naturally — as people share mixed reactions to the name Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
After days of bookies betting on names like Albert, Arthur, Philip and Spencer, the Duchess and Duke of Sussex threw everyone for a loop when they revealed that they went for an entirely different name than what many predicted. While some people are gushing over it, and even making comparisons to Archie comics and the CW series Riverdale, others are questioning where the name came from and want an explanation, stat.
I love Archie Harrison. I love that it's classic, but feels true to the couple — like it was really what they wanted, not what tradition dictated. It's really the perfect balance of a name with history that's still modern, just like Harry and Meghan as a couple! It's also CUTE.

The #RoyalBaby has been named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. Probably because there‘s still email addresses available for that name! #BabySussex pic.twitter.com/PU5myuQBWv

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is absolutely the name of the dude in every Edith Wharton novel who sits in the same opera box as the protagonist and is always making comments like “when did Pearl return from Paris anyway? I thought she was a continental girl”

I would like a full essay explaining how they decided on Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor (minus the Windsor, that's the only name I recognize.) https://t.co/XYEfMbfExX

Still, one person provided a simple explanation for the name, saying that it’s nothing complicated. Another assured that the United Kingdom is so pleased with the choice that a rainbow appeared over Windsor Castle after Archie’s parents made the big reveal.
I understand the couple just liked the name Archie and that Harrison means son of Harry. #nothingcomplicated pic.twitter.com/SuNUXTmwKI
