Meghan Markle Baked A Lemon Olive Oil Cake For World Central Kitchen Volunteers
World Central Kitchen, the organization started by chef José Andrés, has been working hard during the COVID-19 pandemic and has provided over 36 million meals in over 400 cities to date. At the tail end of 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they were teaming up with World Central Kitchen to help in their efforts, and recently Meghan Markle even personally baked a cake for a WCK outpost in Chicago.
In a tweet shared to the World Central Kitchen account yesterday, the organization explained their recent collaboration with Archewell, Harry, and Meghan's non-profit foundation. "In honor of #WomensHistoryMonth, WCK worked with Archewell, the non-profit created by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, to provide meals & share a message of appreciation & support in Chicago. Dessert was a lemon olive oil cake baked by The Duchess—with lemons from her garden!" the tweet read, with an attached photo of four women sitting around the lemon olive oil cake.

The women in the photo are volunteers that world with World Central Kitchen through YWCA Metropolitan Chicago and Fat Shallot restaurant. As a refresher, World Central Kitchen provides meals to communities in need while also helping to support local restaurants. One reply to the tweet on WCK's account said, "I bet Meghan’s olive oil cake was good," and the Fat Shallot restaurant's official Twitter confirmed that it was "delicious." No surprise there!
