Meghan Markle Appointed Vice-President of The Queen's Commonwealth Trust
On International Women's Day, Meghan Markle has been announced as the Vice-President for The Queen's Commonwealth Trust.
Meghan's new role will see her supporting young people, and especially women and girls, throughout the Commonwealth.
Queen Elizabeth is the Trust's Patron, while Prince Harry is its President.
Later, Meghan Markle will join Annie Lennox, Adwoa Aboah, the former Prime Minister of Australia Julia Gillard, and Angie Murimirwa of Campaign for Female Education on a panel for International Women's Day.
Ahead of her appearance, Meghan's newest royal role has been announced by Kensington Palace, with the Duchess of Sussex set to become the Vice-President for The Queen's Commonwealth Trust.
Announcing the new appointment, The Queen's Commonwealth Trust tweeted, "We are delighted to announce that as of today The Duchess of Sussex will take on the role of Vice-President for The Queen's Commonwealth Trust. Please join us is welcoming Her Royal Highness to #TeamQCT":

Kensington Palace also confirmed the news tweeting, "On #InternationalWomensDay The Duchess of Sussex has become Vice-President of The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust."

The Trust's official website reveals that "Her Majesty The Queen is Patron and The Duke of Sussex is President," making Meghan's appointment a true family affair. The Queen's Commonwealth Trust aims "to champion, fund and connect young leaders around the world who are driving positive social change, serving their communities and providing hope, work and self-employment opportunities for others."
Meghan's first four official royal patronages were announced at the start of 2019, and the duchess' latest appointment is further proof that she's committed to supporting young women all over the world.
