Meghan Markle's Go-To Snack For Glowing Skin
Meghan Markle is many things - an actress, activist, blogger, and future royal, to name a few. She's also undeniably gorgeous, so any time there's more insight on how she stays so fit and looks like a million bucks, our ears perk up.
In a 2017 interview, Markle said two of her go-to snacks while filming Suits were almonds and apple slices with almond butter. Most health-conscious celebs tout almonds or some other kind of nut as a favorite healthy snack, and they're pretty well-known at this point for their healthy fats and plant protein. But beyond keeping you full between meals, it turns out almonds are also good for your skin.

Registered Dietitian Keri Gans says the vitamin E, zinc, and healthy monounsaturated fats found in almonds all benefit skin health. "Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory that protects your skin from sun damage," she explains. They also contain polyphenols - micronutrients with antioxidant properties - that may defend against UV radiation and aging. FYI, polyphenols are also found in fruits, veggies, and green tea.

Almond butter has nearly the same benefits, Gans says, as long as you're aware of the portion size. Gans recommends a serving size of about 23 almonds (one ounce) or two tablespoons of almond butter. Since we all know how easy it is to go to town on a jar of nut butter, grab a measuring spoon and live like a royal.
