Meghan & Harry Celebrate Thanksgiving with a Special Instagram Message
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry took to Instagram to wish their followers a "Happy Thanksgiving!" on Thursday.
It was previously reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would be spending Thanksgiving in the United States with Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland.
Staying true to her American heritage, Duchess Meghan took to Instagram on Thursday to celebrate Thanksgiving.
In a sweet message for fans, the duchess and her husband, Prince Harry, wrote, "WISHING you a VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING from OUR FAMILY to YOURS."
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with their son Archie, are currently taking a break from their official royal duties. A source previously revealed to BAZAAR.com that Meghan and Harry plan to split their time between the United States and the United Kingdom over the festive season.
However, in mid-November it was revealed that the Sussexes planned to forgo the royal family's Christmas fête at Sandringham in favor of spending time with Meghan's mom, Doria Ragland, over Christmas.
In a statement, the couple's spokesperson explained, "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking forward to extended family time towards the end of this month." The spokesperson continued, "Having spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham, Their Royal Highnesses will spend the holiday this year, as a new family, with the Duchess’ mother Doria Ragland."
For anyone worried about the Meghan and Harry skipping Christmas with the queen, apparently the decision to celebrate Christmas with Doria is supported by the monarch. The spokesperson confirmed that Meghan and Harry's plans are "in line with precedent set previously by other members of the Royal Family, and has the support of Her Majesty The Queen."
