A Meat-and-Cheese-Filled Charcuterie Bouquet Will Have Your Valentine Forgetting All About Flowers
In case you haven’t noticed by now, we’re obsessed with fun takes on a meat and cheese platter. From a charcuterie wreath to “jarcuterie” to charcuterie boards that aren’t charcuterie boards, the fun that comes from the appetizer never ends. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, DIY charcuterie bouquets are here to bring the romance in the form of food.
Let’s talk about what you need to turn a charcuterie board into a bouquet. First, gather your favorite meats, cheeses, and breadsticks and/or crackers. Then, use wooden skewers to build the base of the creation. To make it even more special, get fancy by turning the meat into roses (this tutorial will walk you through it!), cut some of the cheese pieces into hearts, and add in a couple skewers filled with olives and grapes. Complete the bouquet by filling in the gaps with real flowers and wrap the base with cellophane.
We’ve found that there are local, Etsy-type shops that create charcuterie bouquets in case you want to leave it to those more experienced. However, you’ll be able to choose exactly what you want and have it look exactly as you pictured by embracing your inner creative. Plus, it’ll be that much more special when you gift it to that one person.
The best thing about the charcuterie bouquet (besides the pictures that will surely make everyone jealous) is that you get to eat it. All you need to do is break out a little jam, honey, and wine, and you have the perfect bite for two.
