'The Masked Singer' Fans Are Seriously Questioning Tonight’s New 'After the Mask' Episode
The Masked Singer season 3 continues with a brand new episode on Wednesday, April 22 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
The Fox hit show announced that following tonight's episode, a new special called After the Mask will air.
Following the promos, some fans had questions about what After the Mask would be about and if it would affect the rest of the season 3 eliminations.
As we learned last week, the idea of a Masked Singer sing-along special didn't sit too well with some fans. Now though, some folks are concerned about what the new After the Mask special could mean for the hit Fox show this week — but here's what's actually going on.
Ahead of The Masked Singer season 3 episode on April 22 — where Banana, Kitty, Frog, and Rhino will face off — the competition show's social media accounts announced that following Wednesday night's "all-new episode," host Nick Cannon would be leading a new post-show special called After the Mask.

Sounds fun, right? Well, of course ... but still, this had Masked Singer fans worried about if this would affect the "all-new episode" airing before the After the Mask special. The promo post prompted fans to ask lots of questions in the comment section along the lines of "Repeat tonight????," "Are there anymore episodes with unmaskings?," and "when is the final?"
To clarify, tonight's episode will see one competitor go home and continue to narrow down the remaining season 3 contestants. In fact, apart from the "Road to the Finals" episode airing on May 20, from here on out, every Wednesday will include one elimination until the field (which currently consists of Banana, Kitty, Frog, Rhino, Turtle, Astronaut, and Night Angel) is whittled down to just three. From there, the last three masked singers will perform and the winner will be revealed in the season 3 finale on May 27.
As for the After the Mask special, that's a new after-show Fox is trying out that will start immediately after the normal episodes are over (a.k.a. around 9 p.m. ET). In it, previously unmasked celebrities will talk about their time on the show and even perform again. Celebrity guests include judges Ken Jeong and Jenny McCarthy, Gordon Ramsay, and Joel McHale. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, all celebrities will be calling into the show from their homes.
See? There's no reason to fret at all. If anything, the After the Mask special just means we're getting one more hour of Masked Singer fun every Wednesday night. All together now: Thank you, Fox.
