Mariska Hargitay, Peter Hermann Give New Meaning to the Term 'Power Couple'
Mariska Hargitay and her husband Peter Hermann are hitting the front lines!
The power couple joined their fellow actors on the picket line yesterday, July 26, standing with other members of SAG-AFTRA, as well as the WGA, outside of the Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery headquarters in New York City.
She shared a selfie from the action on Instagram around midnight, in which she held up a "SAG-AFTRA on strike!" sign while she and Hermann both looked stony-faced at the camera.
The actress let the photo speak for itself, uploading it without a caption. Her fans, of course, were quick to fill in the blank, offering a slew of comments that fit perfectly.
"Just Mom and Dad standing up for what's right! ??," one wrote.
"Power couple ???? fighting for what’s right and fair! #sagaftra #fairpay," said another.
"barbie and ken could never," declared a third.
Others grew a little more sentimental, sympathizing with the strikers and expressing their gratitude to Hargitay and Hermann.
"Standing with you, Mariska, and all the others who deserve better. I’m sorry you have to protest this in the first place but you are an amazing advocate. thank you for all you do ??," one wrote.
"Stand up and rise up! You and Peter are true activists. Your actions are always louder than your words??#leadbyexample #letsendthisnow #captainhasspoken @therealmariskahargitay," said another.
"So proud of you for standing up for what is so wrong with this situation. We the fans care and stand behind both the writers and actors. Together we can all make change," another comment read.
Members of SAG-AFTRA joined the WGA on strike on July 14, with writers and actors both demanding to negotiate better contracts.
