Manitowoc brewery's inaugural Bockfest, featuring Maibock beer, music, food and raffles, is among this week's can't-miss events

1. Have a brew at the inaugural Bockfest

Craft Creek Brewing Co., 220 N. Ninth St., is hosting its first-ever Bockfest from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. April 13.

Bockfests are German beer festivals celebrating the end of winter and kick-off to spring.

As a part of the celebration, Craft Creek is launching its Maibock beer along with the option of caramelizing to give it a delicious froth!

Live music, food and raffles will be included throughout the day. You can also cozy up on the warm patio with fires and heaters.

2. Indulge in the Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra’s concert

Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra presents “Let’s Indulge!” at the Capitol Civic Centre, 913 S. Eighth St., April 13.

Kicking off at 7:30 p.m., the symphony promises to spoil the audience’s ears with some of the greatest music of all time, including selections from Beethoven, Brahms and Rachmaninoff.

During this performance, the Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra welcomes internationally acclaimed pianist Stanislava Varshavski.

Tickets range from $28 to $35 and can be purchased at cccshows.org or the Capitol Civic Centre box office.

3. Attend the Manitowoc Marina’s spring 'Ice Breaker'

The Manitowoc Marina, 425 Maritime Drive, is also getting into the spring spirit with its annual Ice Breaker Open House & Boat Show April 13.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the public is welcome to shop store sales, tour the marina, grab a drink at Camp Ranger Coffee and much more!

Throughout the day, there will be boats on display both on land and in the water as well as boating educational opportunities and consultations.

4. Shop spring craft and vendor fairs

Plenty of spring craft and vendor fairs are planned this weekend!

The Rustic Rose’s Spring Craft Fair is 9 a.m.-5 p.m. April 12 and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. April 13. In addition to shopping Rustic Rose’s florals and gifts, vendors and crafters will be set up in the greenhouse. There will also be raffles, a bake sale and food and drinks for sale. Rustic Rose is at 961 S. 29th St.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 13, you can shop the seventh annual Craft & Vendor Fair at the Citizen Park Rec Center, 930 N. 18th St. More than 40 vendors, a bucket raffle, brat and burger fry, and bake sale will all be included. This event is a fundraiser for continued improvements to the building.

5. Listen to live music across Manitowoc

  • Listen to classic rock performed by Southbound Milwaukee at PetSkull Brewing at 4 p.m.;

  • Karaoke Nights kicks off at The Wharf at 7 p.m.; and

  • The Foocoustics perform at Salute at 8 p.m.

April 14:

  • PetSkull Brewing hosts Biff Hansen and The Works at 2 p.m.
