Luke Bryan Recalls Endearing Encounter With His ‘First Country Music Celebrity’
Luke Bryan performed at The Brett Boyer Foundation Golf Invitational on Monday and was joined by one of his favorite country superstars, Vince Gill.
The two headlined an acoustic jam session for attendees after a long day of golfing in Tennessee. The duo performed renditions of Gill's song "Liza Jane," The Eagles hit single, "Take It Easy," and Bryan's "I Don't Want This Night to End."
While on stage, Bryan took the opportunity to share a heartfelt story with the crowd about the time the two country artists first met.
A fan, quick enough to record the sweet moment between the two country stars, shared the video–as well as a few other shots from the day–on Instagram.

“Somebody said this man [referring to Vince Gill] was sitting in that boutique in there and we walked in there and I shook his hand and he was the first country music celebrity I ever met," he recalled.
Bryan continued: “You know what he did? He stood up, shook my hand, and then so many years later we get to sit on a stage like this and have fun in a true musician, organic, not playing fashion, which is what music ought to be in my opinion. Bad** s*** right there — and that does not happen in hip-hop.”
The two country stars each have plans to tour the rest of the year, so fans are likely to get more fun facts in the coming months.
Bryan has a full schedule ahead of him as he is currently on his Raised Up Right tour that is running now through Jan. of 2023, with the last stop being in Cancun, Mexico. Bryan is also set to host the 56th annual Country Music Awards alongside Peyton Manning on ABC Nov. 9
And just last week, while at another performance, Gill welcomed his youngest youngest child on stage for a surprise tribute to his wife, Amy Grant.
