Good news, reality TV fans: The unscripted and unexpected summer hit, Songland, has been renewed for a second season, and while details remain vague, NBC is searching for the next hit song. That's right, you can audition for season 2.

Here's everything we know about Songland.

What is Songland?

Much like Bravo's Platinum Hit, Songland is a songwriting reality series. Each week, four writers pitch an original track to three producers and one guest artist. (Past guests include John Legend, Macklemore, Meghan Trainor, and the Jonas Brothers.) After each writer performs, the recording artist chooses three songwriters to move forward with and, once in the studio, the songs take on an unexpected shape—as the writers and producers work together to win over the recording artist. In the end, a winner is chosen and their song is recorded and released.

Who is behind the hit show?

Songland is the brain child of musician and composer David A. Stewart, formerly of the Eurythmics. The series is produced by Stewart; Audrey Morrissey—best known for her work on The Voice—Ivan Dudynsky; Adam Levine, of Maroon 5; and Ryan Tedder, who also serves as a judge.

When asked about the show, Levine assured fans they were in for a treat. “It’s very real. It’s very special, because there’s really nothing like it," Levine told ET in January 2019. "I think people are going to really enjoy it because they’ve never seen it from this particular angle before."

Any word on what singers will perform?

There have been no formal casting announcements, at least not yet, but since Tedder, Dean, and McAnally have ties to some big names—including Demi Lovato, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Mary J. Blige, and Kelly Clarkson—were are expecting season 2 to be chock full of talent.

When will Songland season two premiere?

While Songland will air on NBC, the network has not given a release date nor have they confirmed the show's time slot.
