Looking for fun things to do this weekend July 5-7? Top 5 events in Palm Beach County
As we settle into summer, remember we will still have opportunities to head outdoors and not absolutely wilt while having some solid fun. This weekend get out and sample free ice cream in downtown West Palm Beach, get down and dirty during the Swamp Tromp at Grassy Waters Preserve, try yoga with baby goats or maybe even put on your grass skirt and get down to Mathews Brewing Co. for their Annual Luau.
In addition to the top five events listed there's always something great happening at places like The Norton Museum of Art or the Maltz Jupiter Theatre. On top of that you could always just enjoy a great meal with an equally great view at one of Palm Beach County's waterfront restaurants from Jupiter to Boca Raton. Plus, we've curated a list of the best things to do all year in the county, and here it is: your bucket list of 55 fun must-try things to do in Palm Beach County.
1. Swamp Tromp at Grassy Waters Preserve
"Feelin' down and dirty, feelin' kinda mean," Well, if you're groovin' to the first part that song than this rugged hike is literally calling your name. Harness that inner child (or Labrador) and take this fantastic hike through the cypress swamp and get an up-close look at the preserve and its inhabitants. Snug fitting, closed-toed shoes recommended.

2. Savor the Summer, Publix Ice Cream Truck
Publix is bringing back childhood summers of eras gone by — the days of the beloved ice cream truck, days when you sprinted home, breathlessly squeaked out the words "ice cream" and "money" to your mom before racing back to score that creamy frozen deliciousness. Good times. The Publix truck is making only 10 stops in the country, and one of them is in downtown West Palm Beach. It will be serving up several limited-edition flavors including lemon-berry bliss, lemon crème-flavored ice cream with lemonade-flavored flakes and blueberry flavored swirls; marry me strawberry, a strawberry-flavored ice cream with ribbons of strawberry-flavored sauce and pieces of white chocolate-flavored strawberry pecan bark; cold brew cookies and cream, cold brew coffee-flavored ice cream with crème-filled chocolate cookie pieces and many more.
The event is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 7. Brightline Station, 501 Evernia St., West Palm Beach. Ice cream samples are free, served in cups. Information: publix.com/pages/summer
