Some of Frank Lloyd Wright's most renowned homes have been placed on the market this year, and if you have deep enough pockets, they could've been yours. His Mayan Revival Blade Runner house in Los Angeles and his Spiral House in Phoenix, for example, were asking buyers for a mere $23 million and $12.95 million, respectively.
Now, by the grace of the housing market, the lauded architect and interior designer's oldest and largest New Jersey home is available with a much smaller price tag-$1.45 million. Chump change, by comparison! (Though, let's be honest: Still well above the $200,000 median home price in the U.S.) The 1940 Christie House in Bernardsville, New Jersey, listed by Paul "Roger" R. Christman of Weichert Realtors, was the first of four homes Wright built in the state.
According to the Philly Voice, the mansion was originally purchased in 1994 for $450,000 and put back on the market in 2015 for $1.7 million-that's a 270+ percent increase in value. Of course, owning a one-of-a-kind Frank Lloyd Wright home for $1.45 million seems like a steal. I mean, can you really put a price on such art? Take a look inside and answer that question for yourself.
