Litter of 'Shy' Foster Kittens Opening Up in Their New Home Will Make Anyone Smile
Let's be honest--becoming a pet foster parent isn't something everyone can do. It takes tons of time, patience, flexibility, and consistency to earn the trust of a foster animal, and then preparing them for adoption is a whole different game. You'll have to teach them new routines and healthy behaviors, but it will be so worth it to watch your foster pet thrive in a loving forever home--whether or not it's with you!
Whether you're a foster parent who enjoys learning from other foster parents or just someone who enjoys animal videos, there's no doubt why TikToks of foster animals go viral time and time again. They're simply irresistible!
In a late November video from a Canadian kitten foster (who's also Mama to a TikTok-famous feline named Bruce), a 'shy' litter of kittens get to know their new room for the very first time. The precious little kittens are as sweet as can be, but it's 'paw-sitively' priceless watching them open up so quickly!
OMG--how adorable are they? These tiny tabby cats had no problem relaxing together in their crate, but everything changed when the door opened and they entered their brand new home: the kitten room!

When this litter of rescue kittens (who has two especially needy siblings who have a room of their own) came into their foster mama's life in mid-November, they were as tiny as could be. They were found and rescued from underneath a deck before being brought to the Peterborough Humane Society in Ontario. Fortunately, their luck increased tenfold when they were matched with their loving foster mom... even though she calls her group @myjerkcats. LOL!
Fostering is So Much More Than Playing With Kittens
Even though this litter of kittens and their human mom make fostering look so fun and adorable, it's important to remember all of the not-so-glamorous work that goes into saving lives. No matter what species or age of pet you care for, you'll need to find and set an entirely new routine! You'll be cleaning a litterbox (unless it's an automatic litter box) or picking up after a dog at least once a day, and you're likely going to interrupt your own sleep schedule in the process. Plus, baby animals like kittens and puppies have additional needs you'll need to meet!
Caring for a foster pet may sound overwhelming, but most people who foster are able to find a level of commitment that works for them. Luckily for TikTok--and many Canadian kitties--this loyal foster mom has dedicated her life to helping these animals. No wonder she's raising such confident, curious kittens! Before we know it, these foster kittens will be ready for adoption.
