LIST: East Texas Fourth of July events 2024

TYLER, Texas (KETK) — As July 4 approaches, towns across East Texas will celebrate independence day with live music, food and fireworks.

July 4th travel expected to set record

KETK News has compiled a list of events for the Fourth of July.

Big Sandy

America the Beautiful: The 2024 Chamber of Commerce Parade will be held on July 4. The parade line up will begin at 8 p.m. on Wiley Boulevard and the parade at 8:30 p.m. The parade will be followed by a fireworks show that is expected to begin at around 9:45 p.m.

Bullard

Blast Over Bullard: To celebrate Independence Day, the City of Bullard will have local food, vendors, activities for all ages including their annual Kids Bike Brigade and a firework show on June 29. The bike parade will be led by the Bullard Volunteer Fire Department and will begin at 7 p.m.

Canton

Fourth of July Celebration: Canton will host an all day event on July 4 that will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a time capsule dedication ceremony at city hall. A watermelon eating contest will be held at 10 a.m. with the parade kicking off at 10:30 a.m. The firework show will begin “after dark on the west side of the First Monday Grounds.”

Gilmer

East Texas Yamboree Fireworks Show: The law offices of Goudarzi and Young will hold a firework show on July 3 beginning at 8 p.m. with a raffle drawing, airshow at 8:30 p.m. and fireworks to begin at 9 p.m. The event will be held at the Yamboree Event Center at 181 Bob Glaze Drive in Gilmer.

Kilgore

Kilgore Fireworks Extravaganza: Hosted by the City of Kilgore, attendees can expect performances from the Juxebox Heroes. Fireworks are expected to begin around 9:15 p.m. People are asked to bring chairs and blankets.

Longview

Fireworks and Freedom Celebration: The City of Longview will host the annual fireworks and freedom celebration on July 4. People can expect a free concert to begin at 6:30 p.m. and the fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.

Vendors and entertainment will be inside the Maude Cobb Convention Center. A cornhole tournament will begin at 5 p.m. with doors opening at 4 p.m.

Troup

Troup’s firework show: The First Baptist Church of Troup will host a firework show on July 4 that will begin at 6:30 p.m. with food and live music. Fireworks will begin at dusk and people are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs to the free community event.

Tyler

City of Tyler’s July 4 Celebration: The City of Tyler will host their annual Fourth of July fireworks celebration at Lindsey Park. Gates will open at 3 p.m. and the fireworks show will begin after dusk at around 9 p.m.
