Lincoln resident writes letters of encouragement, kindness

LINCOLN, Ark. (KNWA/FOX24) — A Lincoln resident is not letting her mild cerebral palsy and developmental issues stop her from spreading kindness in the community.

27-year-old Allison Bond always wanted to do something good in the community and was encouraged by her grandmother to do just that.

“I think my grandma would be really proud about me writing people and encouraging people,” Bond said.

She found a passion for writing letters of encouragement and sharing God’s love with strangers all over the country.

“I usually tell them I’m praying for them or something, and then I usually have cards with Bible verses on them to encourage them,” Bond said.

This is part of her ministry called Kindness Through Letters Mission project.

“I also was mentioning to a lady one time about my ministry and all that I do, and she started crying and was really emotional from it and was really touched by it,” Bond said.

It all started during COVID-19 when she sent letters to prisoners and soldiers.

“I wasn’t really expecting it to grow from like 200” Bond said.

She’s finished more than 4,000 letters.

Since then, she’s received thousands of letters back expressing their gratitude.

She’s kept every single one of these letters in boxes or even in frames till this day.

“I got this one because it was signed by a bunch of military people,” Bond said.

She says every time she gets a response, her heart becomes filled with joy.

“It’s great. I absolutely love it,” Bond said.

Bond says she is accepting donations such as pens, pencils, notebooks, and postage stamps.
