Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse Broke Up Because They Literally Weren’t Seeing Each Other
Apparently, the Riverdale couple decided not to quarantine together, which put a strain on their relationship.
Yesterday, news broke that Riverdale actors Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse had broken up, and now E! News is out here with a report about what went wrong. According to multiple sources who spoke to the outlet, distance had everything to do with the split as the couple wasn’t quarantining together.
“Lili and Cole were in a good place when ‘Riverdale’ was shut down due to the coronavirus outbreak, but they isolated separately and distance has never been a good thing for their relationship,” one source said. “When Cole and Lili are around each other often, things are very good. Their relationship is very intimate and affectionate, but things become much more complicated when they’re apart.”
Another source added: “Distance is never good for their relationship. They decided not to quarantine together and knew off the bat that it wasn’t going to work. They both know their communication is better when they are together in person, and it just wasn’t working.”
Page Six was the first to report the breakup, with their source saying, “Cole and Lili split before the pandemic hit and have been quarantining separately. They remain good friends.”
While Lili and Cole haven’t confirmed their split (and have a history of shutting down false rumors about their relationship), their Riverdale costar Skeet Ulrich recently implied that they broke up by telling a fan “I think they were a very cute couple.”
That said, the last time people thought Lili and Cole had ended things, Lili hit Twitter and shut everyone down—including “sources” dishing on their relationship:
