Letter to the editor: Stores already preparing for Christmas miss the point of the holiday

It makes me sick to see Christmas in July. Stores are decorating for Christmas, and it’s not even December yet. Jesus’ birthday is Dec. 25, not in July.

Have we forgotten the true meaning of Christmas? It's to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Where’s the reason for the season?

Christmas in July is just another way for the stores to make money, and it doesn’t matter the true reason for why we celebrate Christmas. Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus the Christ. Let’s not forget that.
