If I were to ask 100 dermatologists for five body lotion recommendations — non-greasy and immediately effective as sole stipulations — I’d imagine most would mention La Roche-Posay’s Triple Repair Moisturizing Cream. In fact, I’d bet on it; after all, in addition to dermatologists, the formula has garnered the greenlight from beauty editors, astute shoppers, and celebrities — including January Jones, who deemed it indispensable in 2023, via an Instagram post, alongside her much pricier skincare essentials. Incidentally, Sarah Jessica Parker has praised one of the brand’s face moisturizers in the past.

The aforementioned body moisturizer is in constant rotation at my own abode, where my boyfriend and I turn to its smoothing magic — especially now, as our post-hibernation skin is in need of a glow-up, post-haste, before shorts season is fully in swing. For a limited time, you can shop the dry skin savior — and all La Roche-Posay products — for 20 percent off during the brand’s limited-time Spring Sale.

La Roche-Posay

The La Roche-Posay Lipikar Triple Repair Body Moisturizer is a highly hydrating, intensely soothing, head-to-toe cream that softens and calms skin of all types, including desert-dry and super-sensitive. The fragrance-free formula has even garnered a seal of approval from the National Eczema Association; it’s also suitable for babies, per the brand — a testament to its gentleness.

As with all La Roche-Posay products, the cream contains spring water sourced from France. In addition to sounding rather chic, the ingredient contains minerals shown to soothe inflammation on contact.

The cream also contains niacinamide: The B vitamin offers myriad benefits, and has consequently earned a primo spot on many dermatologists’ shortlists. Dr. Hadley King, M.D., for instance, applauded niacinamide in a previous InStyle report, noting it quells “signs of skin aging,” including “age spots and other forms of discoloration.”

Other notable ingredients in La Roche’s body moisturizer include ceramides and shea butter, both of which soften roughness. More granularly, ceramides support a strong skin barrier — the health of which can determine whether skin feels supple or scaly. Like most good things, ceramides take time to repair barrier damage; fatty acid-rich shea butter, however, smooths skin in seconds.

Frankly, I’m gobsmacked by this moisturizer’s effectiveness — and I’m hardly alone. One reviewer, whose dry, sun-damaged forearms “felt like wrinkled sandpaper” prior to trying La Roche-Posay’s body cream, reports that their skin finally feels “soft” post-use. Another says the moisturizer delivers “naturally glowy skin” sans a “greasy or sticky” feel, while another notes that it has made their formerly “scaly skin” disappear. Finally, one enthusiastic shopper deems La Roche-Posay’s body cream somewhat transformative, noting how they feel “like a goddess glistening in the sun of an exotic beach, even in the midst of winter.” Who’d say no to that? (Not me; I’m currently loading my virtual cart.)

If glistening, silky skin — just in time for shorts season — is of interest, shop the body lotion celebrities, editors, and shoppers are undoubtedly stocking up on: La Roche-Posay Triple Repair Moisturizing Cream. Hurry — 20 percent off ends soon.
