Lawyer of groom accused of groping underage waitress claims innocence because wife is still with him

A New Jersey man accused of groping a teenage waitress at the reception of his wedding maintains his innocence, and his lawyer states his new bride is "150 percent" behind him.

Matthew Aimers, 31, walked into Bucks County court on Thursday holding hands with his wife as he faced charges of false imprisonment, corruption of minors, indecent assault, indecent exposure, and related counts after the November 24 incident, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

“If he committed a crime, not even Dr. Phil could keep them together,” Aimer's attorney, Louis Busico, told the court. “And the fact that they still are together shows that my client is an innocent man.”

According to a criminal complaint sent to Yahoo Lifestyle by the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, Aimers allegedly propositioned a teen waitress at his Northhampton Valley Country Club wedding reception. When the teen turned down the groom, he reportedly followed her into the restroom and forced her into a stall, where he exposed himself. He then allegedly asked her, "Can you kiss me like you mean it?" The criminal complaint states he offered the victim $100 for sexual favors. The teenager was able to push him off and ran from the restroom.

The complaint reads that Aimers was "pushing and punching" people after the restroom incident near the entrance of the venue, including reportedly hitting an employee of the country club who told Aimers he could not have alcohol outside the venue. Aimers went on to challenge police to a fight, calling an officer a "b****" and a "p****." Aimers was taken into custody.

He will be arraigned next month in Bucks County court.
