Lawrence County pre-eclipse celebration fills fairgrounds of with food and music
Before the moon blocked out the sun on Monday, Lawrence County got ready for the big day with a three-day event at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds.
The Eclipse Over Lawrence County, held at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds, featured plenty of food, crafts and bands.
Bands, such as Larry Summerton's Summertime Band, and duo Jo and Kev, performed in the Lawrence County 4H Expo Hall.
There were smashburgers from Busy B'z Mash Hall, a family run business operated by Jeni Beasley, her husband, and her oldest daughter.
Local entrepreneur Carson Boady was there offering his signature lemon shakeups. Boady, who operates his stand in the gym during BNL basketball games, said it was a little slow Saturday afternoon, "but it'll pick up tonight. I'm excited to see who's coming into Bedford. It should be fun."
Boady, who is still in high school, planned for a very busy weekend where he would work 12-hour days. Boady said his business is booked solid every weekend until September.
