Lawrence County Gem Mineral Fossil Show a rockhound's playground
Bloomington residents Julie Harries and Mary Kate Oreovicz checked out necklaces Friday at the African Imports booth at the 59th Annual Lawrence County Gem Mineral Fossil Show.
Harries said they "look for (Bagai Saho's booth) every year" when they visit the gem show. This year's event was Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds.
Booths featured everything from rocks to prospecting supplies at Lawrence County Gem Mineral and Fossil Show. Mindy Hedrick's stand just south of the Lawrence County 4H Expo Hall was selling crystal quartz made into a face with the addition of googly eyes.
Hedrick explained that some of the faces have glow-in-the-dark eyes, making for an interesting sight at night. Hedrick had dozens of the faces on display.
