The Last Of Us Season 2 Begins Production In Early 2024
The Last of Us
The Last of Us Season 2 will finally go into production in early 2024, according to HBO’s Casey Bloys.
As reported by Variety, The Last of Us Season 2 is not on HBO’s slate of shows set for release in 2024, so it’s not going to be on your screens until at least 2025. Like every other TV show and movie in 2023, the series has been affected by the SAG-AFTRA and WAG strikes.
The show stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay as Joel and Ellie, and is based on the original acclaimed video game from Naughty Dog. Both game and TV show follow two survivors of an apocalyptic fungal outbreak, as they struggle their way across America looking for a cure.
The second season was renewed while the first series was airing, with the show receiving 24 Emmy nominations. Neil Druckman, the game director who’s heavily involved with the TV show, has said that Season 2 will be based on the event of the second game, The Last of Us Part 2.
The Last of Us and its sequel are one of PlayStation’s hottest properties, so when actor Shannon Woodward posted a cryptic message about working on a new video game project, fans went the whole hog and assumed they were talking about The Last of Us Part 3.
