Kylie Jenner Discusses Future Plastic Surgery and Kim Kardashian West’s Reaction Is Super Unexpected
It’s not often that an insecurity results in a multi-million dollar company, but for Kylie Jenner, that’s exactly what happened. After years of lacking confidence due to her thin lips, Jenner first turned to lipstick as an instant fix for faking plump lips, eventually opting for fillers to give herself a more long-term solution.
“I was insecure about my lips, and lipstick is what helped me feel confident,” Jenner explained to sister Kim Kardashian West in an interview published by Evening Standard magazine, referring to how her emotional connection with lipstick led to the inception of Kylie Cosmetics.

“[Kylie cosmetics] is the most authentic thing I’ve done in my career, and it really relates to me, and I feel like people can tell that I’m super passionate about it,” says Jenner, who claims her major focus right now—other than her newborn daughter—is expanding the brand worldwide.
While it’s common knowledge that Jenner’s inflated pout is from occasional injections, she claims that fillers are the only procedure she'll be doing in the immediate future. When asked about her feelings towards plastic surgery, Jenner told Kardashian West: “I feel like if it makes you feel better, and if that’s what you want to do, I’m not against it. Right now I probably wouldn’t do anything, actually.”
Surprisingly, in response to Jenner’s proclamation, Kardashian West responded with, “you’re 20, so I hope not! We’ll talk in 20 years, and then maybe you’ll have a different answer.” It’s unclear what Kardashian West considers to be “too far” when it comes to cosmetic enhancement at a young age, although the reality star's family has gotten quite a few treatments and procedures over the past few years. Everyone is entitled to changing their opinions, so if Kardashian West says she doesn’t endorse plastic surgery for those in their 20s, then that’s certainly within her rights.
