Kristin Cavallari swears by the Nosefrida: The ‘game-changer’ tool for moms
Kristin Cavallari is a mother, entrepreneur, wife and reality star of her E! show, Very Cavallari, which is back for a second season. If there’s anyone who knows a thing or two about how to juggle the many demands of parenthood, it’s Kristin.
For the mom of three, the Nosefrida is “the one product that every mom needs,” she tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “If you don’t have kids or haven’t discovered this yet it sounds kind of gross because you can literally suck the snot out of your kids nose, it doesn’t get in your mouth or anything, but it is a game-changer when your little baby has a cold and they can’t breathe.”
Shop it: Fridaybaby Nosefrida, $16, amazon.com
The Nosefrida is considered a staple among parents. It’s currently the no. 1 best seller on Amazon in the “baby nasal aspirators” category and has over 7,500 5-star reviews. It’s 100-percent hygienic, comfortable, safe and doctor recommended. The mechanics are simple. It has a nostril cover, snot catcher, nose hose and mouthpiece. You use your own mouth suction to withdraw snot and mucus from your child’s nose (don’t worry, this won’t actually enter your mouth). It deposits into a disposable filter and voilà, your child is free of snot. You can easily clean this product with soap and water or even toss it in the dishwasher.
Aside from the Nosefrida, Kristin’s one piece of “advice for moms juggling the day to day is just do the best you can and not be too hard on yourself,” says the mom of three. “The hardest job on the planet is to be a stay at home mom.” One way she keeps things exciting at home with the kids is, “to have one activity a day. I got to get out of the house, whether it’s going to Target or just doing something silly to just get out of the house, just to change things up, always really helps.”
Even though Kristin and her husband, former NFL quarterback, Jay Cutler have different parenting styles, Cavallari says she always wins their disagreements, but ultimately he’s super supportive. “It’s been interesting for Jay and I. We’ve completely switched roles, she says. “You know I went from living Jay’s life and it was all about his football career to as soon as he retired, now my career has really taken off.”
In the end, Cavallari admits, “I got him to do a reality show, so that in itself should tell you how much he supports me [laughs].”
