Is Taylor Swift releasing a book?
Swift hasn't confirmed or denied rumors that she's dropping a memoir, so it remains to be seen. Swifties began speculating about a book when Swift used "Dear Reader," a bonus track title from her album Midnights (3 am edition), in her announcement of Speak Now (Taylor's Version), along with a mention of July 9 (more on that later).
Swift also played an author in her All Too Well short film (check out all the Easter eggs from it here!), so she may have been dropping hints about this for longer than anyone realized.
Swift certainly has plenty of stories to tell and a way with words, so watch this space!

Why is July 9th important to Taylor?
July 9 is mentioned in her song "Last Kiss." The song, written about her split from ex Joe Jonas, references a time she flew to see him on tour (and Swifties have photographic evidence of the meeting).
It's also speculated that Swift's hypothetical memoir will drop on July 9, 2023, a Sunday—an usual time for a book release. This is largely based on a since-removed Instagram post from Blacksburg Books in Blacksburg, Virginia, which pointed out the irregularities in a mysterious upcoming title release compared to other traditional book releases.

Another bookseller cited by SwiftTok also noted that the book is 544 pages (5+4+4=13), and that the mysterious tome is "nonpolitical, it is fun, it has global appeal and skews towards a younger audience."

SwiftTok ate all of this up. Some also noted that Swift mentioned in her Speak Now (Taylor's Version) announced that the album is entirely self-written and "tells a tale of growing up," though that could just be Swift purely talking about the album itself.
One of the booksellers mentioned in SwiftTok who since deleted their post about a mysterious book said that the title and author would allegedly be announced on June 13, 2023, and we all know how Swift feels about the number 13 — which some linked even further to "13 years gone" mentioned in her All Too Well short film.

Another theory we haven't yet seen pointed out specifically is that the title is from Flatiron Books, which boasts celebrity authors including President Joe Biden, Oprah Winfrey, Carly Simon and Melinda Gates, plus an upcoming book from Elliot Page, among its roster — so a book from Swift would definitely be in the publisher's wheelhouse.
