Kingsport Senior Center celebrates 5,000 active members for the first time
KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) – The Kingsport Senior Center, where the fun begins at 50, is celebrating 5,000 active members on its roster, the center announced in a release on Wednesday.
The 5,000-member roster is the largest in the Senior Center’s history. The center said in the release that this milestone did not come without commitment.
“All senior center staff worked hard on this goal, and we are thrilled to have met it,” said Senior Center Director Shirley Buchanan. “We had to struggle and adapt to make it through the pandemic, but we’ve seen steady growth since then, and we’re hoping to keep growing throughout the coming year.”
