It's going to be a beast of a summer at Kings Island as the amusement park gets ready for its Independence Day celebration next week, and preps for the Grand Carnival later in July.
Here's a look at what Kings Island is planning if you want to join the party.
Fourth of July celebration brings fireworks, drones, lasers and more to Kings Island
Kings Island boasts that its Fourth of July fireworks display "is one of the largest and most immersive" in the Cincinnati area, set against the background of the Eiffel Tower and the Orion giga coaster.
Its Fourth of July Celebration will also feature hundreds of drones, lasers and a choreographed fountain show. along with live entertainment and food catered by executive chef Joseph Perez and the park's culinary team.
And of course, the park's rides will be running.

Grand Carnivale to bring the world to Kings Island
From July 20 to Aug. 4, the Grand Carnivale will bring "the sights, sounds and flavors of international cultures" to Kings Island.
As part of the Carnivale, the Spectacle of Color Parade brings lavish floats, interactive performers and pulsing rhythms to the streets, capped by a finale of fireworks, lasers, lights and drones.
And foodies have their niche, too. The Flavors of Carnivale International Food Festival features a "wide variety of scrumptious flavors and enchanting aromas." However, the exact menu has yet to be announced.
Tickets to the Carnivale can be bundled with a single-day Kings Island admission for $44.99.
Halloween Haunt returns to Kings Island this fall
"Halloween Haunt is the most immersive and haunting Halloween attraction in Greater Cincinnati, with a combination of unimaginable scares, chills and thrills that can’t be found anywhere else," Kings Island boasts. The attraction returns in September.
Not recommended for children under age 13, Halloween Haunts fully transforms the park with haunted mazes, scare zones, "sinister" live entertainment and "hundreds of horrifying creatures lurking in the fog and hiding in every corner of the park waiting for you."
Kings Island hours, closing time and tickets
Kings Island is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily through Sept. 1, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 2. Then the park is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Sept. 20 to Oct. 27.
Daily tickets are $44.99 online or $84.99 at the gate, and include the Soak City waterpark. The Funday Bundle is $69.99 online and adds all-day dining—a meal every 90 minutes. Season passes are also available.
How much is a fast pass at Kings Island?
If you want to skip the lines for rides, Kings Island offers a limited number of Fast Lane Passes each day. The passes are an extra $85 on top of the ticket price and are available online.
