King Charles Upholds Queen Elizabeth's Beloved Christmas Tradition
King Charles III
King Charles III isn't letting Queen Elizabeth II's Christmas traditions die with her.
As the second Christmas holiday approaches since Queen Elizabeth II's passing, her son has continued her tradition of hosting extended members of his family at Windsor Castle before leaving to attend his royal holiday duties in Norfolk, England, later this week.
Some of the relatives who attended the pre-Christmas at Sandringham reunion on Wednesday, Dec. 20, included Princess Anne, who was accompanied by her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, along with the couple's daughter, Lady Louise Windsor, as seen in photos published by Hello! Magazine.
This is the second year Charles and Queen Camilla have assumed the role of hosting the festive gathering. This year is a bit different, though, as Camilla's grandchildren are reportedly joining the royal family during their annual Christmas Day outing.
The days leading up to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are rather busy for the royals, so it's no wonder Charles and Camilla have continued this lovely tradition.
It's not the only holiday custom the family has continued, as the Princess of Wales celebrated the holidays with a caroling event at Westminster Abbey earlier this month.
Unfortunately, Charles and his wife Camilla were unable to attend the second annual concert as his Majesty was busy with an engagement at his Highgrove Estate in Gloucestershire, which was over 100 miles away from where his daughter-in-law's bespoke tradition was held. That said, there's always next year!
