Kim Kardashian Speaks On Single-Motherhood: “I’m Raising Four Kids By Myself”
Kim Kardashian wears a lot of hats, but she recently got candid about the most important one: being a mother.
In a recent sit-down with Zoe Winkler of the What in the Winkler? podcast, Kim spoke about raising North (11), Saint (8), Chicago (6), and Psalm (5) all by herself.
“I think you and I have mostly connected on parenting and judgment,” Kim began to Zoe on the Nov. 12 episode. “And feeling like sometimes you’re in this alone, even though we have great support systems and people around us. Sometimes, in the middle of the night when they’re all in your bed, kicking you, crying, and waking up—it’s not something I talk about a lot.”
She added, “People will be quick to say, ‘Oh, but you have nannies and help.’ But even with all the help, I’m basically raising four kids by myself.”
The SKIMS founder went on to share just how hectic mornings can get for her family, while comparing her carpool routine to a pit stop in a race.
“This morning, I had five kids to take, and everyone wants to leave at different times or wants different stuff,” she sid. “I feel like I’m at a pit stop of a race car driver.” However, Kim admitted that she’s being gentle with herself, and encouraging other moms to “give yourself grace.”
Kim split from ex-husband and father of her children, Kanye West, in 2022 and has spoken much on their parenting dynamics. In a 2023 interview with GQ, the 44-year-old opened up about co-parenting and their children adjusting to their divorce
“Ultimately, what matters is that kids feel loved and heard,” she said. “You want to be sensitive because they’re just kids, and it’s hard to go through no matter what age.” Kim also shared how she tries to keep things simple and positive for them by leaving out any negativity. “You have to make sure that you only go to a level that they can understand.”
