Kids show their creativity in Fell Township
FELL TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Local kids got a chance to show off their creative side on Tuesday.
Dozens of children were able to sing, dance, and make arts and crafts thanks to the Lackawanna County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday at Merli-Sarnoski Park.
Art in the Park is a chance for kids to bring out their creative sides with arts and crafts, and a chance to play world percussion drums.
The drums teach kids about different cultures and African heritage.

The event also features picnic-style foods like hot dogs, hamburgers, and lemonade. Admission is free and is open to the public.
Live music and books from the Lackawanna County Library were also available for kids to read and keep their minds active over the summer.
“What I did so far as I was doing this cool portrait thing, and there’s also books, and I also made this popsicle thing,” said Greenfield Township resident Fionna Gaynor.
“Just for fun because we just so happened to live right next to it, so my dad thought why not,” Rowan Gaynor from Greenfield Township said.
The event is every Tuesday for the month of July at various parks around the county and is open to ages four to 12 years old.
