Kelly Clarkson Wows Fans With Energetic Cover of Jennifer Lopez 'Let's Get Loud'
Kelly Clarkson sings on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show'
Kelly Clarkson has done it again! On Monday, Feb. 19, the American Idol album performed a cover of Jennifer Lopez's 1999 song, "Let's Get Loud"—and she knocked it out of the park.
During her "Kellyoke" portion of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the 41-year-old delivered an energetic version of the dance pop track. Clarkson confessed after her performance that she usually has more time to prepare.
"We were going to be doing this song, and then we found out J.Lo's coming. I was like, 'We should do it when she comes,'" she explained. "So we weren't quite prepared enough but we pulled it off!"
Clarkson added: "That song, it's so funny because that song is maybe one of my favorites we've done, no joke, because of the energy... You feel like you're J.Lo when you're singing it."
In the comments of the YouTube video posted on The Kelly Clarkson Show's channel, viewers praised Clarkson for nailing her cover of "Let's Get Loud" while putting her own spin on the song.
One person commented, "This is why I say she’s the most versatile singer of this generation because she can literally do anything and make it her own. I love how Kelly just loves music."
Another viewer declared, "Kelly can sing EVERY song," while another wrote, "Amazing job, Kelly! I absolutely love this song and JLO. You did an outstanding job. You put your own spin on it! Dang! My new favorite version of this song."
During that same episode, Lopez, 54, discussed her new album (and movie) This Is Me...Now.
"You're one of my favorite voices ever," J.Lo told Clarkson during their chat. "I have my five favorite singers of all time, and you're one of them."
"What, OK!" the flattered but flabbergasted talk show host replied.
But after Clarkson's poweful performance of "Let's Get Loud," can you really blame Lopez?
